Who We Are
The Flying Bats and Sydney Rangers Football Clubs, alongside Pride Football Australia, will host the International Gay and Lesbian Football Association (IGLFA) World Championships XXIV in Sydney in 2023.
This event will bring together LGBTQIA+ people and allies from across the world to participate in a football tournament from 20-23 February, 2023 to coincide with Sydney WorldPride.
The Championships will promote visibility and inclusion of LGBTQIA+ people in football and sport globally. It will welcome players of diverse sexualities and genders, and a range of skill levels, to join together in an inclusive environment free from discrimination. Women (cis and trans), men (cis and trans), trans people, intersex people, non binary people, Indigenous two-spirit people, Sistergirls and Brotherboys are all welcome in the tournament

The Flying Bats
Kicking on strong since 1985, The Flying Bats is the world’s largest lesbian soccer club.
The Bats are firm believers in football for all and a sense of community, which comes through in everything they do. They’re bigger than ever in 2022, and they want you to share the joy!

Sydney Rangers
Sydney Rangers FC is Australia’s first and Sydney’s only inclusive soccer club for male-identifying players.
Formed in 1997, the club has come a long way in that time and now has more than 100 members across six competitive leagues in Sydney’s Inner-West.

Pride Football Australia
Pride Football Australia aims to bring together football players and supporters, regardless of their gender or sexuality, to share their love of the game and promote equality, acceptance and diversity. Pride Football Australia was born out of Australia's first LGBTQ+ football tournament held in 2009.

What is IGLFA?
The International Gay & Lesbian Football Association (IGLFA) was founded in 1992 in order to help promote and foster the growth of LGTBQIA+ football world wide.
Since IGLFA’s creation, more than 100 teams/clubs representing over 30 countries have joined and participated at IGLFA competitions. Each of these teams/clubs have played a vital role in helping IGLFA accomplish its goals and uphold its mission.
In recent years the IGLFA has shifted its focus from organizing an annual IGLFA World Championship, to one which provides assistance to organizing boards of national and international tournaments and events.
While partnering with the organizers of these events, the IGLFA provides support and aide to maintain the highest level of competition for our members.
The IGLFA works alongside tournament and event coordinators to assist in providing the best experience for our members at each tournament and event.
The IGLFA has and always will strive to support, nuture and improve any and all LGBTQ football organizations throughout the world.
