Latest updates for the Sydney IGLFA 2023 Tournament
With 82 days to go until the IGLFA World Championships kick off Down Under, we’re getting in touch with some news about the tournament and all the Sydney World Pride festivities!
We now have teams registered from New York, Minnesota, San Diego, West Hollywood, The UK, Melbourne, and several Australian locations. It’s going to be huge, and we can’t wait to celebrate with you and play the beautiful game with pride.
Registration via Dribl
Firstly, just a note to acknowledge that when you register as a team or individual, you’re sent an auto-generated email via Dribl. This confirmation email doesn’t contain much information, but if you’ve received it, you’re registered! Unfortunately we can’t change the content of that email as it comes from our third party supplier but we appreciate it's not a fab first impression.
Please encourage members of your teams to sign up ASAP and let us know if you have any questions about the process.
Keeping in touch
You can always reach us through either our Admin or Engagement email accounts in the 'To' field, but we’ve also set up this Facebook group so that everyone travelling to Sydney can join, ask questions, get answers in real time, and get excited for the trip of a lifetime! If you don’t have Facebook, don’t worry, this inbox will still be monitored.
Getting to Sydney, and staying here
If you haven’t booked your flights and/or accommodation yet and need support, we’re here to help. We’re happy to be a sounding board for anything from hotel locations, great local restaurants, or whether Qantas really will lose your baggage. Just drop us a line or post in the Facebook Group above.
Sydney World Pride updates
Things are really starting to take shape here in Sydney and you can read the full Sydney World Pride Festival Guide here. There are a number of major events, but the magic of Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras is those smaller moments, and with more than 300 official events, there are plenty of those to go around.
On 9 December, the final tickets will go on sale for the Opening Concert and Bondi Beach party, while limited tickets remain for the Domain Dance Party and Rainbow Republic Closing Party. If you’re not already, we’d really recommend you subscribe for World Pride updates here. If you came to Australia and didn’t see Kylie Minogue in concert, could you ever forgive yourself?
We’ll be sending more regular updates from now on, and we’ll actually focus on the football in some of the upcoming editions!
Until then, have a fabulous week.
