Latest updates for the Sydney IGLFA 2023 Tournament

We have 74 days and counting until the IGLFA World Championships kick off in Sydney. How exciting! We were also named as one of the 20 things NOT TO MISS at next year’s festivities by the Guardian Australia. Check out what else made the list here

Final tickets for major World Pride events

In case you’ve missed out so far, final tickets for the major World Pride events (other than our tournament, of course) go on sale at 10.00 AM Australian Eastern Daylight Time on Friday 9 December. For our friends overseas, here’s a handy time converter.

This includes the Live & Proud Opening Concert on Friday 24 February, starring Kylie Minogue <3 , Charlie XCX, Jess Mauboy, Electric Fields, and hosted by Courtney Act. It also includes the Bondi Beach Party on Saturday 5 March, headlined by Nicole Scherzinger, on Saturday 5 March for those who are making a longer trip of it!

Time to register for the tournament

This email has been sent to registrants for the tournament, so obviously you’re a keen bean.

HOWEVER!

Team registrations close on 31 December, so if you know a team who want to register but haven’t yet, make sure they get their registration in soon to avoid disappointment. Dribl recently underwent a platform upgrade, and we've reflected the changes to the registration process on our website here

We’ll aim to have an indicative schedule out to all registered teams in January to help you plan your trip and make the most of all a Sydney summer has to offer.

Spotlight on… Mardi Gras Fair Day

On Sunday 19 February, the day before our tournament kicks off, the official opening for Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras begins at Fair Day in Victoria Park.

This is a must-do for visitors to Sydney. It’s a family-friendly event by day, turned party by night, that showcases the best and brightest of the queer community in Sydney.

Read more about this incredible community event here, and be sure to visit the Sydney Rangers and Flying Bats stalls in the sports village on the day.

Thank you to our sponsors

A massive thank you to our two major sponsors, Veolia Australia & New Zealand & Sekuro. Your incredible support is helping us put on this event. Thank you!
